Colombo

The main event of our centenary celebrations was held on 5th July 2014, beginning at 4.30 pm at the Havelock Grounds in Colombo. This once-in-a-lifetime event will have a lasting impact on the thousands of believers who flocked to Colombo from all around the island. The police conservatively estimated over 300 buses had arrived at the location bringing over 22,000 believers – which was the largest ever gathering of the Assemblies of God fraternity in Sri Lanka. The Havelock Ground was not sufficient for this massive gathering requiring the adjoining Colts Grounds to be used for the overflow of crowds. The event was projected on giant screens to enable viewing by the vast gathering and streamed live to audiences online reaching many followers both locally and overseas who were eager to see the event.
